About Book and Logo

May 18, 2010

Read about “A Cry For Help” and Jen Delyth’s Tree of Life Logo on the book.

Before we get into “A Cry For Help”, I want to give credit to Jen Delyth at Celtic Designs for the Tree of Life logo – original design by Jen Delyth ©1990 (Celtic Designs Website) on my book cover. Jen is a Welsh artist, living in San Francisco, whose gorgeous artwork graces many books and galleries. Below is a small excerpt about Jen from her website:

………”Welsh artist Jen Delyth creates original Celtic paintings and illustrations which explore the language of myth and symbol inspired by Celtic folklore and the spirit within nature. Drawing from ancient metaphors and integrating the visual motifs and language of Celtic patterning into original new designs, Jen Delyth finds the symmetry of form and symbol that expresses living archetypes. Her work is stylistically contemporary, iconographic, reflecting spiritual and philosophical roots which embody universal themes that reflect her love of nature and Celtic symbolism”……

Summing Up The Book

On page one of “A Cry For Help”, you’ll find this simple fact of life. It sums up the entire book.

….”Life’s all about choices, but when all is said and done there are only two. Two different ways of seeing the world to choose from. Choose the wrong one and you’ll go to school, get good jobs, retire, and die, never knowing who you are. Choose the right one and you’ll heal yourself and our world. The choice is yours.”…..

To give you an idea where I’m coming from, I want you to first think about that famous half-full glass. Is it half-full? Or half-empty? It’s really both, but you can choose to see it either way. Chances are you want to be a “half-full glass” person as well, because it’ll make you feel better. Alright, now imagine there are two equally valid ways of seeing the world. One way frightens you into staying in your shell all your life. Afraid to be yourself, your life is a mere shadow of what it could be. And the other way? It lets you grow and grow, until you blossom fulfilling all your potential as a Human Being. I don’t know about you, but I’d sure choose that first way of seeing things.

A Cry For Help will help you see these two different ways of seeing the world. More to the point, it will teach you how to choose to be yourself, and claim your fair share of true success. I hope the many short stories will entertain you, while helping get your dreams back. If you follow the Amazon link, you can preview “A Cry For Help”. Use the “search inside this book” function and read all over the book. Ciao. John Duffield
